The Ukraine war seems to be on its last leg. Avdiivka, a strategically important town with a 35,000 population has fallen and Ukrainian forces are fleeing in disarray. Despite what the Western press has advocated since the very start of the conflict, Ukraine is a far cry from winning. Still, the situation on the battlefield is only admitted to being a "stalemate", where neither army can advance.
Considering the usual propaganda coming out of the Western press, a "stalemate" suggests Ukraine lacks any hope of military success. This is supported by various sources claiming Russia has deployed only a fraction of its army to Ukraine - and Russian soldiers are not poorly equipped or demotivated.
Russia has waged war in a slow methodical manner, a recipe for prolonged fighting, but with fewer Russian and civilian casualties. The strategy suggests that President Putin acts measured and with restraint to avoid escalation.
Ukraine was an oligarchic and political kleptocracy before the war. Millions of Ukrainians have migrated to Western countries and Russia, not only to escape war but also to flee rampant corruption. According to the data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine and the United Nations, Ukraine has lost about 25% of its population since 1992.
If anyone is in doubt - Ukraine was and is the poorest and most corrupt nation in Europe. The Western irrational hate for Russia has now with great cynicism converted Ukraine into a completely failed state - dependent on Western taxpayers for future existence.
Ukrainians who have not left the country, fight bravely but with unsustainable losses. F-16s or more US dollars will not turn the tide but prolong the suffering. If we are to believe non-mainstream news, Ukraine is now rounding up women, giving them a 4-week crash course in how to handle a gun, then shipped to the front as cannon fodder. Women are now fighting for men, and to my knowledge that is a despicable historic novelty - a shameful testament to Western delusional policies and disrespect for Ukrainian lives.
Politically, Ukraine is in a crisis because the writing is on the wall. The blame game has already started and Zelensky is constantly looking over his shoulder for political backstabbers. Just weeks into the war, Zelensky was ready to negotiate peace with Russia. But then, the Churchillian caricature Boris Johnson promised him victory on the battlefield. Hard pressed by the Ukrainian Banderites, Zelensky fell victim to empty Western promises. Will he soon flee to his luxury apartment in Dubai where he can continue his lavish lifestyle - while ordinary Ukrainians die for a lost purpose?
We can only speculate what President Biden receives of information and what he understands. His mental faculties are clearly not firing on all cylinders, and he is surrounded by incompetent acolytes like Blinken, Nuland, and Sullivan - all of them unfit to serve the interests of ordinary Americans. What they lack in diplomatic skills they compensate with unchecked cravings for new wars serving no meaningful purpose.
The West advocates pouring tax dollars and arms into the Ukrainian black hole for "as long as it takes", but with total silence on what the objective is. Western politicians, elites and legacy media are demonstrably inept, borderline criminal, and more dangerous than previous politicians after the Second World War.
US Secretary of State for Political Affairs "fuck the EU" Victoria Nuland is the most dangerous reckless woman walking the earth. She was the neocon mastermind behind the 2014 "regime change" in Ukraine and she lies relentlessly trying to convince Americans the US proxy war is a success. The outcome was predictable from the start, but today we know it is a total disaster for the US and NATO. Our leaders chose to gamble with taxpayers' money and Ukrainian lives - and they have lost. The only question is how the war will end - with a humiliating whimper or nuclear disaster?
Sadly, our political elites can continue to fail with a complete lack of accountability. The breakdown of US institutions ensures impunity for the ruling class. However, if an ordinary conservative taxpayer with no criminal history expresses unsympathetic views on open borders, DEI, or drag shows in school - expect a swat team to knock down his front door.
Over the last week, I have met with a retired Admiral and a high-ranking Air Force pilot with thousands of hours in fighter jets. For decades they trained and prepared for war against the Russians during and after the Cold War. Interestingly, they adamantly denounce the demonization of Russia and they call out the Western involvement in Ukraine as sheer madness.
The world-renowned Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs is clear in his view on President Biden and the Western narrative on the war in Ukraine:
The archives show irrefutably that the U.S. and German governments repeatedly promised to Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev that NATO would not move "one inch eastward" when the Soviet Union disbanded the Warsaw Pact military alliance. Nonetheless, U.S. planning for NATO expansion began early in the 1990s, well before Vladimir Putin was Russia's president. In 1997, national security expert Zbigniew Brzezinski spelled out the NATO expansion timeline with remarkable precision.
The Biden team uses the word "unprovoked" incessantly, most recently in Biden's major speech on the first-year anniversary of the war, in a recent NATO statement, and in the most recent G7 statement. Mainstream media friendly to Biden simply parrot the White House. The New York Times is the lead culprit, describing the invasion as "unprovoked" no fewer than 26 times, in five editorials, 14 opinion columns by NYT writers, and seven guest op-eds!
There were in fact two main U.S. provocations. The first was the U.S. intention to expand NATO to Ukraine and Georgia in order to surround Russia in the Black Sea region by NATO countries (Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Georgia, in counterclockwise order). The second was the U.S. role in installing a Russophobic regime in Ukraine by the violent overthrow of Ukraine's pro-Russian President, Viktor Yanukovych, in February 2014. The shooting war in Ukraine began with Yanukovych's overthrow nine years ago, not in February 2022 as the U.S. government, NATO, and the G7 leaders would have us believe.
Common sense and diplomacy are increasingly becoming a lost art form in the West. The Ukrainian conflict is another example of numerous lost US wars - all shameful testaments to the cultural, social, and financial decline of Western countries. There is no reason to believe that US or NATO has the military strength to win conventional wars against formidable opponents like Russia or China. Western obsession with DEI, as opposed to a system based on merit, has put us on a path to further decline of Western capabilities.
It is due time to stop the hostilities in Ukraine and make peace in good faith while there still is something left of Ukraine. But the dysfunctional regime in Washington refuses to even speak with the Russians - that would be to admit failure an implausible scenario. It is more likely that Washington will exhaust all other devastating options before peace will be negotiated.
Today, there are only two key politicians who have admitted that the US and its NATO puppets bear heavy responsibilities for the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, namely Robert F. Kennedy Jr and former President Trump. President Trump is abrasive and a verbal loose cannon. Like him or hate him - he seems to be the only person with the potential to stop the war in Ukraine.
Can he save the US from itself? No, the institutional rot in the US has taken decades to reach the current level of corruption. A return to some form of recognizable "normalcy" will take decades to fix.
